sea spray

a place of outstanding beauty where nature
is uncontaminated, where the large stone house is
literally hidden by "walls" of bouganvillee and
plumbago. the house divides the garden into two
distinct zones, one more wild leading towards the
sea, the other green and restrained. in the part
with the small bay, a private beach has been created
with a project for a sea-water pool which will retain
the morphology of the coast. small pathways crossing
the mediterranean scrub are enriched with aromatic
plants, allowing one to enjoy the intesity of the
perfumes. the choice of the plants has been determined
by the wind and sea spray, so as well as the classic
sardinian plants such as myrtle, juniper, euphorbia,
we have used some more exotic but resistant species
like metrosideros, grevillea, and erytrina. the other
side of the garden, well protected from the wind is
completely different. to obtain a spectacular effect
on entering the property, a green amphitheatre has
been created, where an english lawn blends into the
classic mediterranean shrubland.
